On Wednesday 18th, a live high-tech demonstration will highlight the official launch of the new DECclic II platform, an improved version of the remarkable networking tool used by over 900 CEGEP teachers to extend their courses, provide guidance, and interact with students.
In March and April 2020, teachers were tasked with the challenging transition to alternative methods of teaching to help their students complete the Winter 2020 semester. The approach varied from college to college and in some cases from department to department within the same college.
The year 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of the CEGEPs. Even if the AQPC Symposium is highlighting this anniversary by taking a look at the accomplishments of the network, it is primarily focused on the present and the future - promoting recent innovations, current approaches that are being tested and examining the results of research that is being conducted within the colleges. In this way, Symposium attendees can explore the heritage that is being built day after day in the college network, and be inspired by it in order to enrich their own educational practice.

According to a Radio Canada press release, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) authorized the creation of a .quebec suffix in On September 2, 2014, preregistration began for businesses and organizations to reserve their own names o domain. On November 13, registration is public and open to all. According to The Globe and Mail, Quebec is currently the only geographical location within Canada to enjoy this distinct status.
The next symposium for the AQPC (Association québécoise de pédagogie collégiale) will delve into the numerous collaborative networks that are benefiting college students, teachers, professionals and administrators. As well, the symposium will shine a light on the powerful network of exchanges fostered by collaborative activities that have mutually reinforced and energized participants.
The Office 365 Platform was launched by Microsoft in 2011. Collège Ahuntsic mentions using it in their 2012-2013 Annual Report and has positioned itself as a pioneer for this package within Quebec. Some colleges are proposing the purchase of the Office 365 platform, whereas others are considering mandatory purchase by students, while some have opted for Google Apps. This year, the Cégep Limoilou is innovating in the Quebec City region by deploying Office 365 Platform free for all its students.
This group is a place to share and exchange on practices related to college teaching and digital technology. It is aimed at francophone and anglophone teachers, future teachers and college professionals.

Établir le portrait des pratiques technopédagogiques au regard de l’utilisation des pédagogies actives en enseignement supérieur, tel était le thème d’une enquête menée par le Centre d’étude et de développement pour l’innovation technopédagogique (CÉDIT). Cette démarche a permis de colliger les réponses de 410 enseignants du réseau d’enseignement collégial provenant de différentes régions du Québec (Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Bas-St-Laurent, Chaudière-Appalaches, Côte-Nord, Estrie, Gaspésie-et-les-Îles-de-la-Madeleine et Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean). Les établissements collégiaux ont été sélectionnés en fonction des réalités propres aux régions éloignées des deux grands centres urbains que sont Québec et Montréal. L’objectif était de déterminer si une transformation des postures et des pratiques technopédagogiques des enseignants était présente dans ces milieux régionaux. Cette chronique permettra de mettre quelques résultats en évidence.

Kelly La Venture and Becki George of Northland College Wisconsin presented a workshop on hybrid instruction at the recent Canadian International Conference on Education (CICE) at Cape Breton University in Sydney, Nova Scotia from June 16-19, 2014. After their workshop, in conversation with Profweb’s Norm Spatz, they elaborated on their motivation for creating and teaching hybrid classes. Kelly’s and Becki’s remarks are testimonials that providing flexible learning approaches builds contentment among students – helping Quebec college students master ICT profile skills.
In 2018, cell phones, tablets and computers combined with free applications or software give us the ability to create high quality video and broadcast it within moments. The internet gives us access to vast free video resources. Yet in spite of these technological innovations, students still consume digital media mostly passively in classroom settings. Three free online platforms allow you to create different types of video-based tasks that engage your students more actively.

The active learning methods have in common of placing the students in the middle of the learning process. Their teachers can then also think about giving them a role in the planning of the evaluation. Active learning is inspired by real-life contexts that are meaningful for the students, which can increase their level of motivation for the tasks that are suggested to them. It encourages durable learnings rather than using only their short-term memory.
