Thanks to a grant in the context of the Digital Action Plan, video is quickly becoming an integral part of the pedagogical practices of college teachers at the Séminaire de Sherbrooke. Used as part of a flipped teaching approaches or to supplement notions seen in class, videos are distributed through Microsoft Stream channels tied in with the Microsoft Teams accounts of several teachers. Currently in the Quebec college network there are teachers who are experimenting with flipped classrooms using distance education strategies as a way of provoking deeper learning in students. Over the Fall 2019 semester, Cégep à distance accompanied the Cégep de Chicoutimi, Cégep Limoilou, Cégep Marie-Victorin and Champlain Saint-Lambert through innovative experiments as part of a project funded by the MEES (ministère de l’Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur) through the DAP (Digital Action Plan).

Le Solfège à votre portée is a massive open online course (MOOC) developed by the Cégep Marie-Victorin in close collaboration with the Université de Montréal (UdeM). The course, a series of fun and interesting video capsules complemented by self-correcting exercises, offers an introduction to solfeggio, a music-related discipline that focuses on aural skills, pitch, and sight-reading.

An Online Course to Pass the OQLF French Exam

Two Dawson French teachers (Chantale Giguère and Laurent Duval) have developed a new online course called A Tutorial for the OQLF French Exam - Health Sector Students and Professionals. This 45-hour fully online course specifically designed for health sector is now offered by Dawson’s Center of Training and Development (CTD). The students are pharmacists, nurses, doctors, x-ray technicians or students in the health sector who want to improve their French competencies to work in the Quebec health system.
