On November 2nd, 2019, educational stakeholders gathered in Downtown Montreal to attend the RemixEd 2019 “un-conference.” The event, billed as “led by educators for educators,” was organized by LEARN Quebec in collaboration with Concordia University. A cross-section of stakeholders from elementary and secondary schools, adult and vocational education centres, the college network and universities were in attendance.

For me, there are few people that embody the network’s culture of sharing and collaboration more than Rafael Scapin, the mild-mannered intellectual educational technologist with a soft Brazilian accent from Dawson College. His vast knowledge of techno-pedagogical approaches and more specifically, his guru status with the Moodle learning management platform have made him somewhat of a celebrity in the college network! But there’s much more to him than meets the eye!

Both of LaSalle College’s project proposals were funded. One of these is the development of a classroom dedicated to hybrid courses.
