The new placement test in English as a Second Language (eTCALS) becomes available early in May 2011. Réjean Jobin, resource development coordinator at CCDMD, explains the innovations and advantages of this update of the TCALS 98 test which is now adaptive.

In an innovative pilot project, the CCDMD examines the results of a survey of departmental coordinators, teachers, and pedagogical counsellors done at four colleges. The sampling provided encouraging although sometimes surprising information about how the CCDMD is perceived and how its products are used. Irritants mentioned in the use of CCDMD products and IT in general should inspire reflection on the part of all members of the college network.
