Pédagogie collégiale - A Wealth of Academic Resources Online
Since its launch in 1987, the journal Pédagogie collégiale has published over 750 articles on teaching and assessment methods, new technologies, the motivation and mentoring of students as well as a host of other subjects. Did you know that almost all of these items are available in digital form, online or on CD-ROM, and that they're free? Did you also know that many of these articles are available in English?
Whether through the Association de pédagogie collégiale (AQPC) listings at the Centre de documentation collégiale (CDC) website or the AQPC 20th Anniversary CD-ROM, Pédagogie collégiale is available to you wherever you are and regardless of what academic network you teach in.
The AQPC has abstracts of all articles and the full text of 73 articles.
Under the Magazine tab, the website contains summaries of all issues of Pédagogie collégiale from the last twelve years. In addition, under the submenu Thematic files, users have access to a list of articles, abstracts and the full text of each of the thematic issues published since the fall of 2004 in English as well as in French. Also, under the menu Various Themes, you can access a library of articles published since 2004.
Also on the AQPC site are reports with the history of research within the college network on selected topics as diverse as citizenship or the evaluation of learning. In all, 73 items are currently accessible in both French and English. In addition, the AQPC soon will add English and French versions of the 11 articles published in 2011 that delve into pedagogical support for students and the conditions for the effective use of ICT in education.
The CDC website hosts the complete Pédagogie collégiale.
The Thematic files maintain and enrich the college network's documentary heritage. To achieve this goal, the CDC has put many documents online including all the proceedings of AQPC seminars and the integral texts of articles in the journal Pédagogie collégiale the year following their publication.
One of the advantages of this is the CDC's indexing of articles which enables a keyword search. Thus, a search by theme, title, author or keyword facilitates the selection of relevant articles through the display of a detailed record.Of course, the CDC index includes thousands of other articles and books, in fact almost 35,000 documents of interest for those who work in the college network.

All items can be researched by title, author, publication date and subject. The integrated search engine facilitates the quick selection of articles relevant to the query and just as rapid access to full texts. The CD is free for AQPC members and to new members of the college network. It is also provided to anyone interested on request to the Association by completing a short questionnaire that the AQPC has posted on the homepage of its website.
The AQPC plans to update the 2007 edition of the CD this year in order to incorporate the articles published over the last five years.
Your Turn to Expand the Frontiers of Knowledge
For the last 25 years, the journal Pédagogie collégiale has broadcast research results within the college network as well as the teaching practices most likely to enhance teachers' awareness. Thanks to its quarterly distribution of 3000 copies, it promotes the development of an academic culture within the entire college network and the transfer of educational innovations from one college to another. Readers benefit from the insight provided by the work of colleagues in other networks of higher education including that of Quebec's universities.
All teachers in colleges and universities are invited to contribute to this exchange by publishing the results of their work and by sharing the results of their academic endeavours. Publication standards and practices for writing articles or stories of teaching practices are already available online in English or in French.
The editorial board of the journal receives and analyzes all submissions, whether in English or in French. An English editorial committee has been established to facilitate the evaluation of English articles. In this case, the articles accepted for publication are published in French in the print journal and appear in both French and in English on the website of the AQPC.
The editorial board is preparing a file for its summer issue on the diversification of the student population, particularly on the integration of college students with disabilities or those who are struggling with mental health problems. The pages of the magazine are open to you to enrich.
You can receive Pédagogie collégiale by becoming a member of the AQPC or by subscribing to the magazine at the links above.
