ARC

Mission

ARC (Association pour la recherche au collégial) is a place for meetings and discussions on college-level research. The association seeks to promote research in college educational establishments in various ways, including the following:

  • Holding activities or colloquiums
  • Implementing research support measures
  • Awarding prizes
  • Conducting projects involving metaresearch, research, and knowledge transfer

Defining the ARC

ARC is there to promote research and provide information to college network teachers who might wish to conduct research. To do so, ARC organizes:

  • Professional development days and half-days on how to access various research grant programs and on the modalities of submitting grant applications.
  • Training sessions for those interested in research theory and practice.
  • Discussion meetings for researchers where they report the progress of their projects, results obtained, or difficulties encountered.

ARC annually organizes a poster session in the context of the annual convention of ACFAS (Association francophone pour le savoir). It is a special opportunity for researchers as well as for people with research interests to present or receive up-to-date information and to debate the state and needs of college-level research.

In providing research support, ARC offers a mentoring, guidance, and consultation program. It also offers support for research-related activities including development of a research question, dissemination of findings, and preparation of a grant application.

To participate in ARC professional development or support activities, you must join the association. The membership fee is $35 per year.
